Peanut Butter Bars

This is a great bar to take to a potluck or a bake sale. Some bars are just better than others for transporting. These cut nicely and stay fresh and tasty for several days. They have a cake like consistency and stay nice and soft. I think it would also be a good bar to pack in those school lunches everybody will be making before you know it! Kids love peanut butter and chocolate!

Peanut Butter Bars

2/3 c. butter, softened
2/3 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. milk chocolate chips

Cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Add vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients and gradually add to the mixture. Add chocolate chips and spread in a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 45 min. Makes 2 dozen.

Looks delicious! Great idea about packing in school lunch - cookies always get broken, but these would be perfect. Thanks!
