Baking With Dorrie, Apple sauce Spice Bars

Today's recipe for Baking with Dorie was chosen by Chaya. You can find the recipe here, or on page 117 of Baking with Dorie, from My Home to Yours. Check out the other bakers here.

I made just a 9" pan of these and wish now I would have made the whole recipe. They were fantastic! Rich, moist, and full of apples and nuts, they were a hit! The sweet glaze put them over the top. I served them with some ice cream, but they are wonderful on their own, too. A mighty tasty fall treat!

I was tempted to make half the recipe too, but couldn't be bothered to do the math of dividing the recipe into half. I'm so glad I was lazy!! :)

This looks so moist and I love the look of the icing, Laurie. Thanks for another idea for my Thanksgiving dessert table!

Wasn't that glaze delicious. I plan to use it on other desserts. It would be great on ice cream so I imagine it matched beautifully with the ice cream, on top.
