Sugar Cookie Recipe

I have to admit that sugar cookies are not my favorite cookie to bake. I'm not a fan of rolling them out..and then there is the decorating. I make such mess out of my kitchen by the time I'm done, and it all takes so much time!

But somehow I end up making these cookies for so many occasions. It seems that they are every body's favorite as I get requests to make them quite often. So I do.

This batch of cookies were for a friend of mine..I make them for her Birthday every year. She loves them! I also made some extra for my neighbor and froze a few for Thanksgiving break. They will be great to munch on with all the leftovers!

Sugar Cookies

1 c. butter
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt

2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar

Mix the dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl,  mix the eggs and sugar.  Add to the dry ingredients. Roll out, cut, and bake 10 minutes at 350. Frost if desired.

I just used about 3 c. of powdered sugar, vanilla, a couple tablespoons of softened butter, and hot water until I got the consistency I wanted.

Well you are a good friend! I agree, the sugar cookie is too time consuming. I just like to lump them up on a pan and bake away!

These look great though and well worth the effort!
