Cream wafers..twelve weeks of Christmas

If you are going to make a Christmas cookie this year.....make these little jems. Not only do they look festive, but they taste amazing!

The cookies are a bit time consuming, but well worth the effort. They literally melt in your mouth! They are flaky, light, and delicious.

I also like that they are small...that way you have room to try more sweets on the goodie tray! You can change the color of the frosting to fit the holiday or occasion,too. {Make sure you use real butter and heavy cream for this recipe..no substitutions.}

Here is the recipe and page I made for my scrapbook last Christmas:

Check out all the other Twelve Weeks of Christmas blogs for some great recipes,and thanks to Meal Planning Magic for hosting this fun blog hop!

These look so cute and I love that you can dress them up for any occasion by just switching up the colors!

My mom always made these but her filling recipe calls for almond extract with the vanilla. It also calls for egg yolk and we sub that with egg beaters as not to use raw egg. I think that was the original award winning recipe. Every year my friend and I get together and make these to give out for Christmas (leaving the frosting ivory, pricking each cookie 3 times, and having a lonnnng fun day together).
My mom made these for my wedding and my friend and I made thousands of them for her daughter's wedding. Best "fancy" cookies on the planet.
