Hard Rock Cafe BBQ Beans

This is another recipe I tried from America's Most Wanted Recipe book ....BBQ Beans. I have never had the beans at Hard Rock Cafe, but I figured if they were in the book, they must be pretty good. I have eaten there several times, but it's been quite awhile and I can't remember what I did have!

The beans smelled delicious while they were cooking, and I couldn't wait to try them. They were great....very rich and tangy!

Hard Rock Cafe BBQ Beans

two 15 oz. cans of pinto beans, with liquid
2 tsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water
1/2 c. ketchup
1/3 c. white vinegar
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
2 Tbsp. diced onion
1 tsp. yellow mustard
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chopped cooked bacon for garnish

Dissolve the cornstarch in the water and set aside. Put all the rest of the ingredients in a 2 quart casserole, add the cornstarch mixture and stir. Bake at 350 for 90 minutes, or until sauce thickens, stirring every 30 minutes. Serve with crumbled bacon on top.

Barbecued beans instead of baked. Now there's something different!

Wow, I'm so impressed you made these. I buy a can and open them up. I've never made my own sauce like this.

I just got back from Nashville and had the baked beans at the Hard Rock Cafe. I don't know if they are the same as they were in 2011 but they were dang good! I will try this recipe and see how they compare.

This recipe is awesome with pulled pork added to the beans, before putting them in oven to bake, make sure your pulled pork is very tender...
