Lighter Honey Bun Cake

This cake is definitely not as rich as the Cinnamon Roll Cake recipe found here, but it is an awesome substitute treat while you are trying to watch your diet! The photos look very similar, and actually the taste, while not as rich, is very similar,too.( Look at my sidebar for the other photo.}

 In fact, this cake is awesome!

It's moist and delicious, and full of cinnamon flavor. I have taken this to many potlucks, and always get asked for the recipe. Nobody can believe it has lighter ingredients.

I think you could also cut back on the brown sugar and use less icing. For the photo above, I drizzled alittle extra icing on top.

 Give it a try!

Lighter Honey Bun Cake

1 yellow cake mix
4 egg whites
1 c. lite sour cream
2/3 c. applesauce

Mix and put half the batter in a 9x13 pan sprayed with Pam.
Mix 1/2 c. brown sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Sprinkle half of the mixture over the batter. Pour the rest of the batter on top and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes until done. While still warm, drizzle with a mixture of 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 2 Tbsp. milk, and 1 tsp. vanilla. (185 cal. 1 fiber, 4 fat.}Serves 20.

I just made this and it's delicious! Thanks for sharing. I made the Cinnamon Roll Cake last week and that was so yummy but this one is almost as good. I also used no-fat Greek yogurt in place of the sour cream. :)
