Buster Bar Dessert

Brent begged me to make this.

Ok...he didn't have to beg too much.

I haven't made it for years, as well, it's so rich and makes a big pan and I eat it like crazy. I can't stay out of it.

Who doesn't love nuts, ice cream, oreo's and fudge? Not me anyway!

He doesn't ask me that often to make anything special, and well, I wanted some too, so I made a pan. I cut the recipe in half though, and made a 9" pan.

I did let him have the extra piece...

I have to say it was as delicious as always, and a such a fun summer treat.

Next time I won't wait till he asks to make it again....it's way too good not enjoy more often!

Buster Bar Dessert

1 lb. Oreos, crushed
1/2 c. melted butter (I used less)
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
1 1/2 c. salted peanuts
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
2/3 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix the crushed oreos and melted butter. Press into a 9x13 pan. Layer ice cream and peanuts and freeze until firm.
Combine the evaporated milk, chocolate chips, butter, and powdered sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Let stand for 30 minutes, then spread over the ice cream layer. Freeze for 6 hours to overnight before serving.
