Microwave Chocolate pudding in a mug

Oops!

This is my spoon digging into this awesome pudding that only took minutes to make...before I remembered I hadn't taken a picture yet!

It smelled so good I could barely wait for it to cool before I tried it. It was too hot, though. So as soon as it had cooled and thickened a bit, I  plopped some whipped cream on top and dug in.

While I was enjoying this smooth, rich, and creamy chocolate treat, I remembered I forgot to take a photo!

But somehow I got control and reached for the camera before it was all gone. Which didn't take long!
This is a fun recipe that I found in a Home Cooking magazine. I have a pile of mug recipes that I'm collecting and trying out. Some I have to admit just don't turn out that great.

But this one I really enjoyed. I followed the directions exactly and it came out perfect!

Pudding in a Mug
(Home Cooking)

1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. chocolate chips
pinch of salt
vanilla

Put the cornstarch in a 12 oz. microwavable mug. Stir in the milk until the cornstarch is dissolved. Add the chocolate chips and pinch of salt. Microwave on high 1-2 minutes, until mixture is hot. Stir until chocolate chips are melted. Microwave 45-60 seconds longer until mixture just begins to boil. Remove and add vanilla. Cool. Serve warm or chilled.

Will heavy whipping cream achieve the same effect if I don't have milk?

I have never tried cream, but I bet it would taste rich and delicious!
