Old fashioned pancakes

It's no secret I love pancakes.

I often order them when we go out to eat, and I often make them at home. I have lots of great pancake recipes, and I am always trying out more to add to them.

This recipe I found on Allrecipes. I spend alot of time there reading recipes and reviews. I like to see what people have to say about the recipe, what things they would change, or not change. This one had alot of good reviews.

First of all, the name of the recipe attracted me....usually I find that any recipe that is older is probably a pretty good one. It's been tried and tested and with stood time.

So I gave it a try, and it will FOR SURE be added to my pancake recipes. It's light and fluffy, and passed by butter test. My butter test is eating the pancake without anything on it other than butter...no syrup, berries, etc. It was just perfect with only butter.

So then I dumped on alot of maple syrup, and threw on some berries too.

Even more delicious!

I ate a bunch and froze the rest. I like to just take them out and pop them in the microwave for a quick breakfast!

Old Fashioned Pancakes

1 1/2 c. flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 c. milk
1 egg
3 Tbsp. butter, melted

Sift the dry ingredients together. Make a well in the middle and add the wet, stirring until smooth. Fry on a heated, oiled griddle, using about 1/4 c. for each pancake. Makes about 8.
