Baked Chocolate Donuts...12 weeks of Christmas

I tried another baked donut recipe with my new garage sale donut pan...this time chocolate. Once again I need to warn you.....these are BAKED, not fried, so there is a huge difference in taste. Let's face it, anything fried rocks! But I still have to say they are a very tasty alternative!

The texture was similar to a cake donut. The chocolate flavor was very mild, with just a hint of cinnamon. I iced them with some melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk....I didn't measure....just dumped until I got a nice consistency and flavor. I added a few Christmas sprinkles on top.

I think these will be fun to make over the holidays, and will taste great with coffee or a mug of hot chocolate!
