I know rice krispie bars aren't that exciting of a recipe, but I was watching the Pioneer Woman the other day and she made a batch. Basically the same recipe most people use, but she did stir in an extra bag of mini marshmallows right before she poured them in the pan.
They looked so extra gooey and delicious.
And they are!
There really is something better about them with that extra bag of marshmallows stirred in. I sprinkled some Christmas sprinkles on top, and think these simple treats would be much appreciated on a Christmas goodie tray!
PW's Rice Krispie Bars
4 Tbsp. real butter
1 (10oz) bag marshmallows
1/4 tsp. salt
6 c. rice krispie cereal
1 bag mini marshmallows
sprinkles.
Melt the butter and bag of marshmallows. Remove from heat and stir in the salt, and add the rice krispies. Stir in the mini marshmallows and spread in a buttered 9x13 pan. Add sprinkles.

Oh, these look sinfully delicious!
ReplyDeleteI've never had rice krispie treats (hard to believe, I know) but maybe your recipe would be a great one to start with.

I've never had rice krispie treats but these looks so festive so I'll have to give them a try.
ReplyDeleteI made these just before Christmas and thought they were very good. Unfortunately, my daughters (15 & 9) did not like the bits of unmelted marshmallows. They tried to tell me I didn't make the rice krispies treats right. I guess I will save this for when I go to potlucks without my girls and just make the traditional rice krispie treats at home.
ReplyDeleteThats too bad! Most kids seem to love marshmallows in any form....the more the merrier!
