Delicious! Warm, buttery, caramel goodness...a perfect recipe for brunch.
I pinned it, I tried it, AND I liked it.
I do need to warn you though, it is very sweet and very rich, even for me! One piece was plenty. Brent had no problem eating seconds, though. He might have even have had thirds...in fact, he also added whipped cream on top!
I love making dishes ahead of time so all you have to do is throw them in the oven. Another bonus...this recipe makes the house smell fantastic!
Overnight French Toast
At home in Alaska
1/4 c. butter, melted
3/4 c. brown sugar
10 slices thick cut French bread
8 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. pecans, chopped, for topping
Mix the melted butter and brown sugar and spread in a greased 9 x13 pan. Place the cut bread on top. Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour over the top of the bread. Sprinkle pecans over all. Cover and place in refrigerator over night. Take out and remove cover. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.( may need to put foil on last few minutes of baking) Let set 10 minutes before serving. Top with butter and syrup.
That looks sooooo good!
