Banana Bars

Too many ripe bananas.

I guess I need to make banana bread again.

Sigh.

As you can tell, I am tired of plain old banana bread!

So....I googled some banana recipes and saw this one. It's from dear old reliable Betty Crocker. I was sure I couldn't go wrong. And I didn't.

Not too rich, very moist, with just the right amount of frosting!

Next time I have some ripe bananas, I will definitely make this again.

Banana Bars

1 c.sugar
1 c. mashed bananas (2 medium)
1/3 c. oil
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Frosting:

3 oz. cream cheese,softened
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar

Mix the sugar, eggs, and oil. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to wet. Mix well and add bananas. Pour into a 9 x 13 greased pan and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

  1. These sound really good! I do my normal banana bread recipe and put peanut butter frosting on it, very similar to your frosting just has peanut butter!
