Hmmmmm. How many times have I made this simple, classic recipe? I can't even count.
As I have mentioned before, my moms favorite cookbook was Betty Crocker. She used it for so many recipes, and actually taught me to bake using that cookbook. One of my favorites to bake were cookies.
Cookies of all kinds are still my favorite to bake. I spent so many happy hours in the kitchen baking with my mom. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her as I am in my kitchen.
I haven't made this recipe for quite a while, as I am always trying new ones out, but I decided it was time to make a batch since my son was on his way home for a quick visit.
Mom always put nuts in her cookies, but I didn't have any on hand. But I did have some mini M & M's so I threw some of those in along with the chocolate chips.
I always under bake my cookies, as I like them soft and chewy in the middle. Mom baked hers so they were a bit crispy, as she liked to dunk them in coffee or milk.
They are good either way!
They are good either way!

ReplyDeleteOh boy, how I'd love to have one of your cookies right now! My mom always baked cookies a lot too and with nuts. I have to make half with nuts and half without since some of them don't care for them. Betty Crocker cookbook is great!
ReplyDelete"Betty" is my Go To cook also. Use that old cookbook quite a bit. My Mom used to bake her cookies crisp also and I too love them a little chewy so we are alike! Thanks for the recipe, I need to get some of these made.
