Just sharing another old classic recipe....Nestle chocolate chip bars. My mom always bought Nestle brand, which are also a favorite of mine.
This simple recipe always turns out perfect, and is a lot quicker to make than the cookies. We used to throw a pan in the oven for unexpected company, sleepovers, bake sales, whenever we needed something fast. They are always a crowd pleaser.
I think they taste best the day you make them, still warm and gooey, of course. I under bake them just a bit, so they stay nice and soft.
I made this pan for church, but we did sneak a few before I packed them up!
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 large eggs
2 cups Nestle chocolate chips
1 c. nuts, optional
Mix the butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Spread in a greased 15 x 10 in. jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
Looks yummy! Oh course you had to taste them, you were doing quality control :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try these!! It seems like they are kind of like the Nestle Toll House Pie, which is a huge hit at my house! Thanks for sharing...
