Cherry Blossom Cookies...pinned it and tried it



These were fun to make!

I love the pretty colors, just perfect for a Valentine treat.

I made them for church, so we only sampled a few. They were like a shortbread cookie. I loved the cherry along with the almond flavor. Of course adding the chocolate made the combo even better!




Cherry Blossom Cookies
flour on lace


1 c. butter, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cherry juice
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped cherries  

sugar for dipping
48 chocolate Hershey kisses

Mix the butter and sugar. Add the salt,flour, cherries, juice, and almond extract.Mix until it shapes into a ball. The dough will be stiff. Refrigerate 1 hour. Shape into 1 in. balls, dip in sugar,  and place on parchment paper.Bake at 350 for 10 to 14 minutes until bottoms are lightly browned, remove from oven and press a Hershey kiss on each cookie.
