Throwback Thursday......Fall Chex Mix

Fall Chex Mix

One of my friends made this mix and gave a cup of it to me, which I ate 

right away. She also sent a cup home for Brent.

Which he ate right away.

This stuff is good!

Here's the recipe.......

 

Caramel Crispie Chex Mix

4 1/2 c. corn chex mix

4 1/2 c. rice chex mix

1/2 c. butter

1/4 c. corn syrup

1/4 tsp. baking soda

1 c. M&M's ( or candy corn or peanuts)

1 c. brown sugar

In microwaveable bowl, microwave brown sugar, butter and corn syrup, uncovered on 

high @ 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until melted and smooth.  Pour over cereal, 

stirring until evenly coated.

Microwave uncovered on high 5 to 6 minutes, stirring and scraping bowl 

after every minute – just until cereal starts to brown.  Cool 5  minutes, stir in

 candies 

(and whatever else you want in there) and spread on waxed paper to cool.
