One of the first things my mom taught me to make were rice krispie treats. They were also one of the first things I taught my kids to make, too. I bet that's the same for many people! It's such an easy recipe and kids love 'em. The recipe is still on every box.
Mom always kept the ingredients on hand, and often let me make them after school with my friends. We'd stir up a pitcher of Kool Aid too, and before we knew it half the pan was gone!

I made these treats with my heart shaped pans. Then to jazz them up a bit, I just drizzled a bit of chocolate and sprinkled some hearts on top.
They are still one of my favorites!

Rice Krispies were definitely my first culinary "attempts" as a young girl too! But no matter how easy and how long they've been around, they never cease to please!!
