King Arthur No-Knead Crusty White Bread
This bread reminded me of the "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day" I made and posted about on my other blog. { you can read about that here.} I was on the King Arthur website checking out all the recipes when I saw it. I wondered if it was better than that one, so I made a batch.
I think both recipes are so similar, it's really hard to tell a difference. I would use either one. Here are the links to both recipes if you want to check it out for yourself. King Arthur 5 minute Artisan
It's SO good....warm, fresh, with a crisp chewy crust, and moist center. The batch makes 3-4 loaves, and the dough lasts about 7 days in the refrigerator.
Now that I have a batch in the frig, I can look forward to more this week!
No-Knead Crusty White Bread
3 c. lukewarm water
1 1/2 Tbsp. instant yeast
6 1/2- 7 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. salt

Mix altogether and put in a large plastic bowl. Cover, let rise 2 hours on the counter. Put in the frig and rise 2 more hours.
When you are ready to bake, sprinkle some flour on top and grab a grapefruit size. Shape and put on parchment paper and let rise 45-60 minutes. Pre heat oven to 400, putting a rimmed baking sheet inside.
When ready to bake, cut the loaf in 3 slices about 1/2 in. on the top. Put in the oven, and pour 1 c. of hot water in the preheated baking sheet. (steam will rise} and bake for 20-25 minutes until browned.
The rest of the dough can be covered and left in the refrigerator about 7 days. Follow the same steps for baking. Makes about 3 loaves.
Wow, this looks so easy. I'm always looking for yummy but easy bread recipes.
