Patriotic Popcorn

Here's another fun treat for the 4th of July weekend...Patriotic Popcorn. All it is some white chocolate melted and mixed with popcorn...and then add some festive red, white, and blue sprinkles and M &M's.

The first batch I tried the popcorn was too chewy..so I had to make some more. The brand of popcorn I used is a new one to me, and I have to say it just isn't as good. But you never know until you try!

I didn't measure...I just dumped some white chocolate Ghirardelli melts into a bowl and melted them in the microwave. I used 2 bags of microwave popcorn and mixed lightly until I liked the consistency, then I added sprinkles and M & M's. I spread it out on parchment paper until it set, and then bagged it up in some fun 4th clear plastic bags from the dollar store. Fun to make and eat!

Patriotic Snack Mix

Happy Memorial Day!
Our pontoon and dock are in, the lawn furniture is out, flowers are blooming...... it's been sunny and warm.... and we are ready for summer!

I decided to make a quick snack to take out on the boat....complete with patriotic colors to celebrate the day. I went into my cupboard and grabbed some snacks I thought would taste great together....both sweet and salty. I took a large Ziploc bag and put in a cup each of red Australian Style licorice, butter pretzels, patriotic M&M's, mini marshmallows, and peanuts.

I also grabbed some cups I found at the dollar store to make snacking easier on the boat. Besides being convenient, they are also festive and fun!

Patriotic Snack Mix

red licorice
pretzels
patriotic M & M's
mini marshmallows
peanuts

Mix according to amount needed. I usually do about a cup of each, then store in a Ziploc bag.

Witch Hat Treats

Here's another fun Halloween treat to make!

All you need is a bag of Oreo's, a can of frosting, a bag of Hershey Kisses and some sprinkles.

I added some orange food color and some green food color to the frosting, then spread a bit on top of the Oreo's. Then I plopped a kiss on top and sprinkled away!

The hardest part was opening up all the kisses..LOL!

Have a great day everyone!

Dipped Halloween Chips

I've been dipping chips!

Sinful I know, but we love that sweet and salty combo.

Plus they are so festive for Halloween!

No matter how many I make, there are never any leftovers. People just keep eating them, they are so addictive!

Spring M&M Flower Bites

Pinned it, tried it, and loved it!

I tried another fun spring Pinterest idea, this time some cute flowers made with M&M's, pretzels and white candy melts. Couldn't be any easier, and really look adorable for Easter or any spring and summer occasion.

They are really so cute, I don't even want to eat them!

Spring Flower Pretzel Bites

Square pretzels
white round candy melts
pastel M&M's

Place pretzels on parchment lined cookie sheet, top with one white melt. Place in 225 oven until softened, about 2 to 3 minutes. Place a yellow M&M in the center of the melt, and arrange other M&M's around to form the petals. Cool and store in air tight container.

Pretzel Fluffnutters from Pinterest

What a tasty snack! A bit messy, but fun to make and eat.

The peanut butter oozes out the bottom just a bit, and they are best eaten warm... while the marshmallows are still soft and gooey.

I ate them with some M&M's...loved the addition of chocolate, so next time I will add a few chocolate chips on top of the peanut butter before I top with the marshmallows.

Pinned it, tried it, and loved it!!

Spread a bit of peanut butter on 10 pretzels. Top each with 2 mini marshmallows and broil until golden. Top with remaining pretzels.

Ritz Banana Splits

Pinned it, tried it, and loved it!

I made a few Ritz banana splits for a fun snack the other day. Such a cute idea, and they tasted as good as they looked. You just spread a bit of Nutella on a Ritz, top with a slice of banana, add some whipped cream and finish off with a sliced strawberry on top.

While it wasn't like a REAL banana split, loaded with ice cream and toppings, it was delicious...... and a lot less calories!

Banana Bites....pinned it and tried it

These were so fun!

Food Network had this idea on Pinterest, and I thought they looked like a cute treat.
EZ too! I eat a banana with peanut butter almost every day for a snack, pretty boring, I guess.

But this sure gave a new lift to my every day snack!

Of course I liked the one with the mini chocolate chips the best. They were all great combo's and there are so many other things you could find in your cupboards to use too. Sprinkles, chopped nuts, crushed potato chips, chopped snickers, any candy or dried fruits actually. M & M's would be fun, or even candy corn.

Food Network had just the granola on the banana bites and listed it about 160 calories for 1/2 tsp. peanut butter on each. ( each banana is cut in 4 pieces)

I'm sure kids would LOVE making and eating this, but hey...so did I!

Banana Bites

 bananas
mini chocolate chips
dried cherries
granola
coconut

Cut the banana into 4 pieces. Top each with peanut butter and add toppings.

White Chocolate Butter Spindles

Dipped pretzels.....I sure have made them tons of times....

.....but this one tastes a bit different.

It tastes AWESOME! Who knew two ingredients could taste so good together?

One of my friends makes these, and after I tasted one, I couldn't stop! Neither could Brent, who asked me to make them sometime. So I did. Every time we walk by the bowl....we grab a couple....

It's definitely the butter flavored pretzels that add to the delicious combo....try it....you can't stop at just one!

Frozen Yogurt Pops.....pinned it and tried it...

Pinned it, tried it, and loved it.

I found this at one good thing. And it IS a good thing!

This really couldn't get any easier. Just pop some sticks in the yogurt and freeze. Then run one under hot water a few seconds and push the cup off.

It makes a perfect afternoon snack, or a snack anytime actually.  Cool, refreshing, and healthy!
