Banana Foster French Toast

I whipped this up just for myself ! Typically, I'll just grab some cereal in the mornings. On weekends I'll make breakfast for the two of us. But I had some bananas I needed to use up and I was SO hungry for french toast. I'd just been out for breakfast the day before and had some wonderful cinnamon french toast so...I guess I just wanted more!

I modified a couple recipes to suit my tastes, using what I had on hand. It was really delicious. In fact, I felt so guilty eating it  ..... I told myself I would make it soon for Brent and share this awesome breakfast. Then I ate it all.

Banana  Foster French Toast Recipe

2 slices bread
1 egg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. half and half
1/8 tsp. vanilla

Beat the egg and add the milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and half and half. Dip the bread into the mixture and fry the bread in some butter until lightly browned. Keep warm.

Syrup

1 banana, sliced in half lengthwise, then in half again
1/8- 1/4 c.brown sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Melt the butter in a skillet, stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon. Add bananas and caramelize. Pour over french toast and serve.

The way syrup covers the bananas makes me drool. This is a heavenly thing for breakfast
