Krumkake..12 Weeks of Christmas

Making Krumkaka is a family tradition at our house. Everyone loves them! They are a crisp, delicious sugar cookie that you make on a Krumkaka iron. Mine is the stove top kind, but you can buy electric ones also.

Here's what my iron looks like:

You drop a teaspoon of batter on the iron and close the lid, then count to 30, flip and count to 30 again. Then you take them off and roll them around the wooden cone to shape. They look like this:

Brent's Grandma used to make a ton of these every Christmas, and now I do too. I have several people I give them to, and of course I make sure there are always plenty for my Christmas goodie tray!

I love this stuff and my aunt used to make the BEST krumkake and try to hide it from us kids! She was quite unsuccessful. :-)

Do you have your Krumkake iron on an electric range? on a ceramic stovetop? And how high do you set the burner? I'm going to make these if I can find an iron.

Just gorgeous! I've never seen a cookie like it, but it's truly lovely.

Ooh, I can imagine how melt-in-your-mouth delicious these are... I need to try and come up with a way of improvising the iron!

They look lovely, is it possible to get them close to that thin without the iron?
