Mini Chip Snowballs

This recipe is from my Favorite Brand Name Holiday cook book. I thought it sounded good so I made a small batch to try them out.
Snowballs are always good, and I knew I'd like the addition of chocolate. And I did, but I have to say I missed the chopped nuts.

Next time I will add both!

Mini Chip Snowballs

1 1/2 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
2 c. mini chocolate chips
extra powdered sugar

Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the flour, then stir in the chips. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cool slightly and roll in powdered sugar. ( I used a paper sack and shook a few at a time}

These do look delicious, so I'll probably make this version too. I usually omit chocolate but add ground hazelnuts or ground pecans to these. I think we called them Russian Teacakes or Swedish Wedding Cakes. There are probably many more names for those melt-in-your-mouth cookies!

Pass the plate, please! Your cookies look scrumptious and they are a must try!
