Bacon Cheddar Puffs

The bacon and cheese made these irresistible. 

They would make an awesome appetizer, but I actually served them with a meal. It's been a long time since I made puffs of any kind, let alone savory ones, so these were a treat.

My son's friends mom used to make cream puffs, and we all loved them. She made them with real whipped cream and a delicious filling. They were SO good! 

I may have to look up that recipe, and give them a try,too!

Bacon Cheddar Puffs

1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1 c. flour
4 large eggs
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Combine the milk and butter in a sauce pan. Heat until mixture is simmering. Add flour all at once, and stir until mixture forms a ball. Remove form heat and beat in one egg at a time, until thoroughly combined. Stir in the cheese and bacon. Drop by tsp. onto greased baking sheet and bake at 350 for 25 min until puffed and golden.
