All American Brownies

Nothings better than a good ole rich and thick brownie!

Some people slather them with frosting, and while I love that also, you can't beat them just plain straight from the pan.

One always leads to two....

Brent likes them with ice cream on top, drizzled with a bit of chocolate syrup, but I still say plain is best. I love the crackle tops with the rich chewy centers!

  • 1/2 cup  oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  2. Mix together the oil, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt, stir into the egg mixture. Fold in in walnuts. Spread in a greased 9" square pan.
  3. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes, the edges pull away from the pan.
