We all fell in love with this recipe for pot roast. Yes, a simple crock pot roast! It couldn't be any easier.
We had traveled all day to get to my daughter and son-in-laws the day before Christmas, so we were a bit tired and HUNGRY. It was a such a treat to drive all that way and walk in the door to the wonderful smell of roast dinner waiting for us!
All she had done was to rub the roast with salt, pepper, and garlic salt on both sides. She sprinkled some Lee and Perren's Worcestershire sauce on top, and added 2 cups of beef bullion.(Superior Touch Better Than Bullion Base} Then added carrots, onion, and celery. Usually she adds potatoes, but she made a special scalloped potato dish instead. {Which was KILLER.....recipe here.} Anyway she cooked it 8 hours on low in her crock pot. That's it.
The roast was delicious...there was not a drop left!

I agree with you that cooking a roast in a slow cooker is the way to go. Your daughters method is pretty much the same as mine. If I am not too rushed, I like to thicken the liquid after it's done to make gravy. The food on your blog looks sooo good. I get hungry every time I look. Hee hee.
