My daughter gave me the recipe for these cookies. They are a real winner in my book!
First of all they begin with browned butter. One can never go wrong with that. Just brings anything to another taste level.
Then they have chopped up snicker bars in them. One of my faves!!!
Lastly, they are SO chewy in the center...yum!!
These will be appearing often in our household. And especially on my Christmas cookie goodie platter.
Here's a close up that shows the cinnamon sugar they are rolled in...and a bit of sea salt sprinkled on top:
Here are all those chopped up snicker bars...yes I snitched a few...
And here you can see the chopped snickers inside the cookie:
Snicker Bar Snickerdoodle Cookies
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tarter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1 cup butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 egg
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
Snicker bars ( I used about 4 regular sized)
For cinnamon sugar mix:
1/3 c. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Brown the butter in a sauce pan, stirring until it starts to foam and brown. Watch carefully so it does not burn. Set aside to COOL.
Here's what google says about browning butter:
about 5-8 minutes
In another bowl, mix the browned butter and sugars. Beat in the egg and egg yolk, vanilla, and sour cream. Add the dry ingredients slowly and combine. Form into a ball, roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes to an hour.
Take 2 tablespoons of dough and wrap around some snicker bar pieces covering them completely. Roll in cinnamon sugar mixture and place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with sea salt. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden.....do not over bake as cookies will get to hard....make sure centers are soft.
Let set a minute before removing from cookie sheets. Makes 36 cookies.
Enjoy!
